British Journal of Dermatology - BJD is a top-ranked worldwide dermatology journal, encouraging submissions from across the globe. It publishes the highest quality research that advances the understanding and management of skin disease. BJD has distinct sections for clinical trials, epidemiology, qualitative and outcomes research, evidence-based dermatology, and translational research. Original articles are accompanied by a commentary from an expert in the field, plain language summary, journal club slides and an author video. Median time from submission to first decision is 2 days without external peer review and 23 days with peer review.   The BJD strives to publish the highest-quality dermatological research. In so doing, the Journal aims to advance the understanding, management and treatment of skin disease in order to improve the outcomes of patient care. The main focus of the BJD (described in a position statement published in the June 2015 issue) is to publish the highest-quality research encompassing the following: Clinical trials that are registered before recruitment starts and report fully according to the CONSORT guidelines.
